MUSHROOM CUP MK8 As an artist, I am always looking for ways to improve my skills, stay relevant and better my art. I am well aware how big 3D modelling is nowadays, and decided to look into how I can acquire this new skill. Video games have always been a huge part of my life, with Mario Kart as one of my long-time favourites. For this reason, I decided to kick start my 3D modelling skills by starting with something from this franchise. I chose the Mushroom Cup Trophy which appears in Mario Kart 8 when you finish in the Grand Prix top 3, and overall, I am pleased with the final result.
There are 12 trophies in total and I intend to model do all of them. Eventually, I would love to step out of my comfort zone and start modelling something outside of the Nintendo franchise.
2D/3D - HOME DOOR (LOW POLY) Coming Soon...
GOOMBA After practising with a few simple shapes, I decided to take the next step and started modelling something slightly more advance: Goomba.
Goomba is a character from the Mario series. He plays the role of an enemy mushroom. It has feet to walk and some has wings allowing them to fly.
2D/3D - TORII (LOW POLY) Most Japanese shrines will have a Torii gate to indicate the entrance of the shrine and to protecting it. There are many different shapes and sizes of torii depending on the size and design of the shrine.
Inspired by the Japanese culture, I love how they're structured their shrines and buildings in the Edo period.
